Overview

Enneagram Type Two, often referred to as "The Helper," or "The Giver," has a personality type characterized by an inherent desire to meet the needs of others. They are warm, nurturing, and deeply compassionate individuals who thrive on building close relationships and offering their support

Twos are highly attuned to the emotions and needs of those around them, making them excellent caregivers, friends, and partners. They are affectionate and attentive, often going to great lengths to ensure the happiness of those close to them. They are frequently the first to offer a helping hand, lend a sympathetic ear, or provide assistance without being asked. Their identity is closely tied to being needed and valued for their generosity and selflessness.

This strong focus on others can lead Twos to neglect their own needs and desires. They may struggle with setting boundaries, and their self-worth may become entangled with how much they can do for others. This can result in feelings of resentment or frustration when their efforts go unrecognized or unreciprocated.

Paradoxically, the more Type Twos learn to attune to their own needs and prioritize self-care, the more they begin to realize their worth and lovability isn’t dependent on how much they do for others. Then their natural ability and desire to help others in the world flourishes and their warmth and generous nature abounds.
